The occupation of our lands for many years has not only harmed peace and tranquility in the region but also created a serious environmental pollution problem, Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) Sabina Aliyeva said at the international conference "The Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century" held in the capital of Turkiye.
According to her, during the war, the duties of human rights institutions in the direction of observing international humanitarian law norms and protecting the rights of civilians are of great importance.
Aliyeva said that the investigation into the situation related to human rights during and after the war and appeals to the necessary authorities, including international organizations, regarding rights violations continue.
