Russian FM: There is no racism and xenophobia in Azerbaijan

Actually, there are no signs of neo-Nazism, racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia in Azerbaijan, Report's Russian Bureau informs citing the next report of the Russian Foreign Ministry "On the situation with glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, radial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance."

"The Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) shares the consolidated approach of the Russian Federation in preserving the historical memory of the role of the Soviet people in the victory over Nazism, countering attempts to falsify the history of the Second world war and glorifying Nazism. In 2018, Azerbaijan voted in support of the UN General Assembly resolution 'Combatting glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance'," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, commission of a crime on the grounds of national, racial or religious hatred is regarded as an aggravating circumstance in imposing punishment.
