One of the most significant gaps in housing provision is the disconnect between technical and political aspects, Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the UN-Habitat, said during an event held within the framework of World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.
Report quotes her as saying that solving the housing problem requires a different model of cooperation.
"There is a need for the redistribution of skills and capacities. In other words, we must work jointly with people operating on the ground. One of the most important gaps is the divide between technical and political aspects. Politicians need to better understand how problems are solved," Rossbach said.
