Robert Cutler: Armenia to depend on France in all areas in near future

As military cooperation with France expands in the coming years, Armenia will become strongly dependent on this country in all spheres, said Robert M. Cutler, former senior research fellow at the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University, speaking via video link at the conference "France and the Armenian-Azerbaijani Conflict," Report informs.

He noted that attempts by third countries to interfere in South Caucasus affairs destabilize the situation in the region, causing concern even for Iran.

"Iran is worried about the presence of third countries on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. France is supplying Armenia with ammunition, military equipment, air defense systems, and night vision devices. French weapons can hit targets at long distances. There is a possibility that in 2026-2027, military cooperation between France and Armenia will expand, which will put Yerevan in strong dependence on Paris in all areas, including the economy," he added.
