Brussels. 25 November. REPORT.AZ/ The European Union (EU) aims to expand cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries, in particular with Azerbaijan. Report informs, President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid said in Brussels. Estonia is currently the country-chairman of the EU Council.

"We are working together to achieve better results for our peoples," K. Kaljulaid said.

According to her, the Eastern Partnership summits are important, since many practical steps were taken in addition to political discussions since the previous summit in Riga.

This concerns, in particular, the development of economic cooperation, the President noted.

K. Kaljulaid stressed that the EU is preparing to sign new agreements with a number of Eastern Partnership countries, in particular with Azerbaijan, aimed at expanding contacts with these countries.

"It is important for our countries to continue the process of reform. Also, bilateral relations with the Eastern Partnership countries remain a priority for the European Union”, - she said.
