President Aliyev praises EU's role in post-conflict normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia

"We highly appreciate the role of the EU in the post-conflict normalization, and particularly President of European Council Mr. Charles Michel," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with participants of the international conference 'South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation,' Report informs.

"For us, European Union is a very important partner. We have a very broad agenda with the EU," the head of state said.

He said that along with the EU's participation in the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, other issues on agenda include trade, energy, transport, humanitarian issues, and issues of democratic development.

"So, we consider the EU as a fair broker and welcome their efforts. Now when the Minsk Group co-chairmanship is dysfunctional, we think that EU can play, and it plays a very active role in the normalization process," President Ilham Aliyev said.
