"Azerbaijan contributed immensely to the victory over Hitler's Germany. It was not only a supply of oil, fuel, and lubricants but also a military contribution. Therefore, the Azerbaijani service members' presence at the Victory Parade in Moscow symbolizes our unity, a symbol of modern, friendly relations, relations of the strategic partnership between Moscow and Baku, Russian journalist, military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko told Report.
"It is an important contribution to the memory of the great victory of the Soviet people. It is a memory of Azerbaijan's support to the defeat of Hitler's Germany. We are grateful to Azerbaijan that the Armed Forces of the Republic will take part in the Victory Parade in Moscow."
The expert also highly appreciated Azerbaijan's efforts to combat the glorification of Nazism. "I also want to mention a huge contribution made by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the uncompromising fight against the glorification of Nazism and Hitler's accomplices. Azerbaijan takes the same position as Russia on this issue."
"Both Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev constantly speak at all the highest international forums about the inadmissibility of glorifying Nazism and Hitler's accomplices in any form, country, and format. It is a consistent, clear position aimed at preventing falsification of history and a demonstration of memory and respect for the veterans of the great Patriotic war."
