Philip Barclay: Elections are vital for free and successful country

British Embassy representatives are visiting several polling stations as official observers.

"Elections are vital for a free and successful country," Deputy Head of Mission of the UK Embassy in Azerbaijan Philip Barclay said.

According to Barclay, all elections should be transparent, inclusive, and should offer fair opportunities to compete for office.

"We are not going to comment on what we've seen today, because the report by the OSCE's Mission will be the most important and serious analysis of these elections."
