Participants of CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Ashgabat agree on Partnership Enhancement Action Program

Participants in a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers (CMFA) in Ashgabat agreed on a program to intensify partnership in international affairs, as well as documents to be presented at the CIS summit on Friday, Report informs citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The ministers agreed to adopt a program of action to enhance partnership between the foreign affairs agencies of the Commonwealth member states. This document aims to make teamwork more focused and targeted. The program should provide the most favorable conditions for concerted action on pressing issues on the international agenda, the report said.

The documents that will be submitted on October 11 for signing at the Council of CIS Heads of State are also finally agreed.

Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries were also invited to participate in the International conference on peace, security and development in Ashgabat in December 2020, and to celebrate anniversary events on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmen neutrality.

Notably, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov represented Azerbaijan at the meeting.
