One candidate aspires to the post of PACE President

Strasbourg. 22 January. REPORT.AZ/ Only one candidate applies for the post of President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

French bureau of Report News Agency informs, he is the Italian lawmaker Michele Nicoletti.

Since there is only one candidate on the post, elections will not be held. It is expected that his candidacy will be approved today in the framework of the session.

Notably, on October 6, 2017, Pedro Agramunt announced his voluntary resignation from the post of the PACE President in connection with the state of health.
