Ombudsperson: France's policy is aimed at creating new hotbeds of conflict in South Caucasus

France's policy is aimed at creating new hotbeds of conflict in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijani Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva told an international conference on "Neocolonialism: violation of human rights and injustice" held in Baku, Report informs.

According to her, the policy of neo-colonialism in Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East has led to gross violations of the basic rights of millions of people: "The aggressor states bear direct responsibility in these matters. France, which caused environmental degradation and human rights violations in Algeria and overseas countries during the second half of the 20th century, is grossly violating the rights of people living under its colonial rule. The fact of violation of the rights of more than one million people in Algeria proves it once again. In addition, France, which makes speeches supporting the open hatred of Armenia against Azerbaijan, causes the strengthening of these opinions. France's policy regarding the South Caucasus is not aimed at the establishment of peace, but at the creation of new hotbeds of conflict and is a threat to the sustainable peace process. The Non-Aligned Movement, which has achieved a number of successes under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan in recent years, is very important in terms of protecting human rights."
