Next political consultations held between Azerbaijan, Montenegro

The next round of political consultations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro was held in Podgorica, the Azerbaijani MFA told Report.

The delegation from Azerbaijan was headed by Fariz Rzayev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Montenegrin delegation was headed by Milisav Raspopović, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meetings, the delegations discussed the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres, as well as strategic energy and transport projects implemented by Azerbaijan.

At the same time, issues of cooperation within the framework of international organizations were discussed. In this regard, the Montenegrin delegation was informed about the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the UNFCCC to be held in Azerbaijan in November 2024 and the work to be done.

Furthermore, the Montenegrin side was given detailed information about the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, the steps taken by Azerbaijan in the direction of establishing lasting peace in the region, the problem of landmines in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, and the restoration and reconstruction work carried out there.

During the political consultations, international and regional issues and other topics of common interest were discussed. During the visit, Rzayev also held business meetings with other Montenegrin officials.
