Baku. 27 July. REPORT.AZ/ A new ambassador of Latvia appointed to Azerbaijan.
Report informs citing the website of the President of Latvia, the ambassador is an experienced diplomat, Juris Maklakovs.
In this regard, the president of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis met with the new ambassador. At the meeting, the President presented letters of credence to the Ambassador.
The new ambassador will arrive in Azerbaijan next week. He will take up his diplomatic mission after presenting his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev. Prior to that, he worked as Latvian Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
New ambassador is 51. He is married and has a child. Ambassador fluent in Latvian, Russian and English.
Juris Maklakovs replaced the ambassador Hardijs Baumanis, who died in April of this year in Baku from the disease.
