Nejdet Unuvar: Friendship between Turkey and Azerbaijan lasting since 1918

Baku. 12 July. REPORT.AZ/ "The friendship between present day Azerbaijan and Turkey has been lasting since 1918, when Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was established, and since then, we have always supported each other," said head of the interparliamentary friendship group of the Turkish Parliament Nejdet Unuvar at a press conference devoted to the anniversary of the coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, 2016.

According to him, when Azerbaijan had a hard time, Turkey came to its rescue, and on the contrary, when Turkey faced problems, Azerbaijan gave a hand.

"Currently, SOCAR alone has invested $ 12 billion in Turkey's economy, but friendship is above all this money. Most likely, we are all safe and now in Baku due to the support and prayers of our Azerbaijani brothers. On that day, I was in the Parliament's building and saw what those people did," Nejdet Unuvar said.

The presentation of Nejdet Unuvar's book That night in the great parliament (Gazi Mecliste o Gece) and The History and Memories made by the Turkish TRT channel was also held.

Notably, editor of the TRT World Fatih Er, lawmakers, as well the Azerbaijani researchers and politicians, also took part in the event.
