Mustafa Sentop makes phone call to Azerbaijani parliament speaker, extends condolences

Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Mustafa Sentop has condemned the treacherous attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.

"I have called the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, my dear friend Sahiba Gafarova and extended condolences to the fraternal people of Azerbaijan over the death of our brother," Sentop tweeted.

An unknown gunman stormed the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, killing the head of the embassy's security service on January 27. Two other officers of the security service were wounded while resisting the attack. Their condition is satisfactory. The investigation of this insidious attack is underway.

According to available information, the attacker has been detained.
