Monument erected to Behbud Khan Javanshir in Istanbul

A monument was erected in Istanbul to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan, Behbud Khan Javanshir.
Turkish bureau of Report informs that the process of erecting the document in the Taksim square was organized by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul and supported by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
The official opening ceremony of the monument will take place on December 18.
Notably, Javanshir was killed on July 18, 1921 before the Pera Palas hotel in Istanbul by Misak Torlakyan, a member of the Dashnaksutyun terrorist organization.
