MFA: No war criminal has been prosecuted in Armenia

"Armenia has not prosecuted any person who committed war crimes," Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, told a joint briefing held by the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the crimes committed against Azerbaijan by the Armenian armed forces and illegal Armenian armed groups since 1988, Report informs.

He said that the law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan submitted a folder of dozens and hundreds of pages of documents on the videos and some other facts to the International Court of Justice: "In return, the Armenian side stated that it deals with the issue, and submitted a reference consisting of several sentences."

"They were also recorded by the International Court of Justice. International organizations have not raised this issue unambiguously before Armenia. This issue has remained unsolved for years. Armenia has denied all crimes for 30 years. They did not accept responsibility for any issue, denying the crimes committed with the intention of shifting all possible responsibility and conducting a smear campaign against Azerbaijan. It continued in this form for a long time. In the last 10 years, which person did the Armenian side hold accountable for these crimes? On the contrary, those persons were presented as heroes in Armenian society. Only appreciative measures were taken about them," he stressed.
