MFA: Azerbaijan's peace and construction efforts face Armenia's continuous provocations

Azerbaijan's peace and construction efforts face Armenia's continuous political and military provocations, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov said while meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk within the framework of his participation in the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council.

In this regard, he stated that Armenia's untruthful position over allegations of blockade of Armenian residents by Azerbaijan and that a humanitarian crisis has arisen in the region are intended to overshadow the rightful protest of Azerbaijani civil society representatives around the Lachin road, and thus mislead the international community.

Mammadov emphasized his country's readiness to ensure the safety of Armenian residents living in the region, like all citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
