May 28 proclaimed as Azerbaijan National Day in in two US cities

Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Florida, Daniella Levine Cava, signed a declaration declaring May 28, 2021, as the Republic Day of Azerbaijan.

According to the local bureau of Report, the decision was made at the request of the chairman of the Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association, Tohfa Eminova.

At the meeting with the mayor, Eminova spoke about the history of Azerbaijan's independence and our country's ancient and rich culture.

The mayor welcomed the activities of Azerbaijanis living in Florida and said that they serve diversity, intercultural understanding, peace, and prosperity in the region. It was noted that the declaration proclaiming the Republic Day of Azerbaijan is an excellent opportunity for the Miami-Dade circle to celebrate the relations between the United States and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Declaring May 28, the Republic Day of Azerbaijan, the American mayor called on the people of Miami-Dade to join the holiday and celebrate the efforts and achievements of the Azerbaijani people.

The mayor of Aventura, Florida, Enid Weissman, signed a declaration proclaiming May 28, 2021, the Republic Day of Azerbaijan on the initiative of the head of the Azerbaijani American Cultural Association Tohfa Eminova, the local Bureau of Report informs.

Weissman stressed the active participation of Azerbaijanis living in the United States in the public life of Florida, their contribution to diversity, intercultural understanding, peace, and prosperity in the region, and the role of the Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association established on October 26, 2006, to promote this society.
