Moscow. 28 April. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan's position on Karabakh remains unchanged.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in an exclusive statement to the Russian bureau of Report News Agency.
According to him, initiative of the meeting in Moscow belongs to the Russian side, which acts as a mediator in the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"At the upcoming meeting everything will depend on the political will of the Armenian leadership. Of course it is not referred to the foreign minister, but the supreme commander-in-chief of the country. It's about the readiness to withdraw troops from the occupied territories around Karabakh”, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said.
E. Mammadyarov noted that he expects positive progress from the upcoming talks, the achievement of certain agreements.
He also noted that the meeting behind closed doors is a requirement of the protocol service of the Russian Foreign Ministry: "The fact that the meeting will be held behind closed doors in itself indicates that something interesting is expected."
“Results of the talks will be declared in an official statement”, Elmar Mammadyarov said.
