Khalafov noted that the parties continue to work months after signing the historic Caspian convention: "There is progress, some changes have been made, which we will discuss during the meeting of the first working group. Countries have signed a document that ensures stability in the region. This stability in the Caspian basin can be regarded as an example for the whole world."
According to Khalafov, during the meeting, participants will determine the procedure for the activity of the working group, discuss ratification of the Convention on the basis of the legislation of each country. The methodology for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea to determine territorial waters will also be discussed.
