“The EU is fully committed to contributing to sustainable peace in the South Caucasus,” High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell wrote on Twitter.
“We are setting up a monitoring capacity along the Armenia - Azerbaijan border and deploying 40 monitoring experts to build confidence in an unstable situation, putting lives at risk,” he tweeted.
On October 17, the EU Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers decided to send a civilian mission to Armenia. The mission will be located in Armenia near the border with Azerbaijan.
