Today, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Azerbaijan Augusto Massari, Report informs, referring to MFA.
Noting the high-level cooperation between the two countries, Bayramov said that the joint declarations on strategic partnerships signed at the level of leaders of the two countries are a clear example of this.
He stated that implementing high-level reciprocal visits between the two countries had made a significant contribution to further strengthening relations, emphasizing the importance of the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Italy in February this year.
In turn, Massari noted the successful development of high-level strategic relations between the two countries in many areas.
The sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy, education, science, culture, and other fields, as well as the implementation of projects in the non-oil sector.
Bayramov briefed the other side on Armenia's aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, recent provocations by Armenian armed forces in the direction of Azerbaijan's Tovuz region on the border between the two countries, actions and statements of the Armenian political and military leadership aimed at escalating tensions in the area. It was stressed that a balanced approach to the occupying Armenia and the occupied Azerbaijani side is unacceptable. Such a long-standing approach is the basis for Armenia to deviate from ending its aggression policy and taking concrete steps in this regard.
The Minister thanked Ambassador Augusto Massari for Italy's principled position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
