Jean Baderschneider: South Caucasus region playing incredibly important role in world

The South Caucasus region is now playing an incredibly important role in the world, Jean Baderschneider, chairperson of the Council of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, former vice president of Exxon Mobile, said at a briefing on the eve of the 10th Global Baku Forum, Report informs.

She stated that Azerbaijan, as the most important country in the region, contributes to ensuring the energy security of Europe.

Speaking about the relevance of alternative energy sources, Baderschneider noted that "now there is an acute need for renewable energy sources."

Azerbaijan, as an efficient "green" hub, has a huge potential in the development of alternative energy sources, she said.

She added that SGC makes a huge contribution to Europe's energy security.
