Incoming Turkmen ambassador speaks Azerbaijani at meeting with Ilham Aliyev

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Gurbanmammet Elyasov, spoke the Azerbaijani language while presenting his credentials to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

Greeting the ambassador, President Ilham Aliyev said:

"Welcome, glad to see you. I was told that you know the Azerbaijani language very well, and our conversation will be in Azerbaijani. It is more satisfactory. Our languages are similar, but at the same time, there are differences. That's why we are, of course, delighted that you are learning the Azerbaijani language. It will certainly allow you to have wider contacts in Azerbaijan."
