Ilham Aliyev: Diversification - one of important factors of energy security

"Improving energy efficiency in our transportation system will add to increase of gas export from Azerbaijan. This is our target and I am sure we will achieve this goal," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said as he addressed the opening of the Baku Energy Week.

"So far, everything what we planned not only in oil and gas, everything our government planned, we achieved. And achieved with the maximum degree of efficiency," the head of state said.

He said the traditional Caspian Oil and Gas International Exhibition and Conference and now the Baku Energy Week will help address all these important issues.

"Diversification is one of the important factors of energy security. And we work on diversification from the very first days of our energy strategy: therefore, we have diversified export routes, three oil pipelines to different directions, four gas pipelines to different directions, and export electricity to four neighboring countries," the head of state said.
