Hungary decided to join the Turkic Council

Hungary will become an official member of the Turkic Council. Report informs referring to Kursiv.kz that a member of the board of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Kovac Josef made the due statement at a meeting of the Turkic Business and Investment Forum in Tashkent.

It was attended by more than 500 entrepreneurs of the participating countries and observers of the Turkic Council.

Since 2018, Hungary has been observer in the Turkic Council. On September 19, 2019, a representative office of the council opened in Budapest. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said then that it will contribute to the development of partnership between the business circles of the Turkic world and Europe.

The Turkic Council was created in the Azerbaijani city of Nakhchivan in October 2009. The purpose of the council is to develop business cooperation between member states. Until recently, its participants were Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey. In mid-September 2019, Uzbekistan ratified the agreement on the establishment of the Turkic Council and will take part in the seventh council summit on October 14-15, 2019 in Baku as its full member.
