Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Azerbaijan's Shamakhi joins int'l eco-project

The Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Azerbaijan’s Shamakhi city and the activists of the Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan have joined the international environmental project "Greening of the Planet", Report informs citing the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan.

As part of the project, it is planned to plant 1 million trees in Ukraine and different parts of the world. The symbolic millionth tree is to be planted in Kyiv.

For this purpose, Ukrainian diplomats, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Mehrali Gasimov, as well as active members of the Ukrainian community went to Shamakhi. Fifteen Eldar pine trees were planted thanks to well-coordinated work.

After the campaign, a trip to one of the most interesting places in Azerbaijan - Shamakhi Safari Park was organized for members of the Ukrainian community.

As the embassy notes, participation in the campaign has become not only a symbol of care for the environment but also an indicator of strong mutual respect and true brotherhood between the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani peoples.
