Hikmat Hajiyev: Armenia should refrain from counterproductive geopolitical intrigues

Armenia should demonstrate serious political readiness for peace with Azerbaijan and transformation of the South Caucasus region, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to President of Azerbaijan - head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said in an interview with China's Phoenix, according to Report.

He said Azerbaijan is ready to continue discussions on the peace process with Yerevan: "Russia is our neighbor and partner and it provides good offices, and Azerbaijan is also ready to continue discussions in Russia and in certain cities of Russia."

"We have strategic parameters of the peace treaty and peaceful transformation of the region of the South Caucasus," Hikmat Hajiyev said adding with regret that Armenia rejects the platform proposed by Russia.

"The Armenian side should also demonstrate such a willingness instead of searching unnecessary and unhelpful and also counterproductive, let's say, geopolitical intrigues outside of the region," Hikmat Hajiyev said.
