Head of delegation: Azerbaijan is an important country for European Union

Baku. 20 September. REPORT.AZ/ 'Communication at a parliamentary level is a common case for establishment of relations with Azerbaijan. However, we have also met with President Ilham Aliyev before our visit to Milli Majlis. As a conclusion of all the discussions, I can say clearly that inter-parliamentary values are the issue that we all believe in'.

Report informs, Sajjad Karim, Head of EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee delegation, a member of the European Parliament who is on a visit to Baku, told to the media representatives after the meeting with Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov.

He said that Azerbaijan is an important country for European Union: 'Azerbaijan is a country that we want to further strengthen our relations. We hope that sufficient ground exists not only for establishment of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, but also for their strengthening. So far, we have witnessed that Azerbaijan wants to be close to the people of Europe and we will do everything to ensure this closeness'.
