A meeting of the heads of customs administrations of GUAM member states (Georgia-Ukraine-Azerbaijan-Moldova) was held in Kiev with the participation of Organization’s Secretariat, Report informs referring to GUAM’s website.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of cooperation in the customs sphere in 2019 as part of the implementation of a project on facilitating trade and transportation in GUAM member states, and also noted the need to monitor the implementation of concluded international treaties in the customs sphere to further simplify customs procedures, improve customs clearance process and combat customs offenses.

In addition, as part of the meeting of the heads of government of GUAM member states, protocols of intent were signed between the customs administrations of GUAM member countries - on the mutual recognition of authorized economic operators and on the use of blockchain technologies when verifying certificates of origin of goods moving across the state borders of GUAM members.

The parties also agreed to hold a regular meeting in 2020.
