Global ATM Summit: Baton passed from Berlin to Baku

A historically important event for the civil aviation of Azerbaijan will take place in June 2024 - the country will host the next Global ATM Summit and CANSO's 28th Annual General Meeting, as announced at the CANSO summit in Berlin.

According to Report, CANSO is an international organization of air navigation service providers. Today, the organization has more than 180 members, including Azerbaijan, which joined the organization in 2005.

Azerbaijan is the first country in the history of the CIS and many other countries in the region to receive the approval of the CANSO executive committee to host this event. Previously, the Summit was held in such cities as Dublin, Vancouver, Copenhagen, Bangkok and Geneva.

CANSO's decision to entrust holding an international summit in Baku is a vivid example of Azerbaijan's achievements and authority in the field of air traffic.

At a meeting with representatives of AZAL's Azeraeronavigatsia ATC, Simon Hocquard, Director General of CANSO, noted that Azerbaijan has all the opportunities to hold the Global ATM Summit at a high level.

More than 350 leaders from civil aviation, representing 150 countries, are expected to attend the summit in Baku. They will come together to discuss the most pressing issues of air traffic optimization and cooperation in building a safe and sustainable global air transport chain.

The CANSO Summit is one of the major events in international aviation. The CANSO Global ATM Summit brings together world leaders and senior management from the entire civil aviation industry, as well as representatives of international organizations such as ICAO, EUROCONTROL and IATA.

CANSO covers more than 85% of the global air traffic and brings together air traffic service providers, aviation regulators and executives from around the world, and industry leaders in the aviation industry.
