Georgia to host marathon on Day of Restoration of Independence of Azerbaijan

A marathon dedicated to the 30th anniversary of October 18 - the Day of Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be held in Georgia.

The competition was organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia, the office of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Georgia, the Azerbaijani Businessmen Association (AZEBI), Khirdalan Music School under the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, Baku Marathon Club, Georgian Azerbaijani Athletes Union (GAAU) and the Museum of Azerbaijani Culture named after Mirza Fatali Akhundzade.

The marathon will continue from the park in Tbilisi named after the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev (address: V. Gorgasali №4) to the park in Rustavi (address: M. Kostava №12). It will start on October 17, 2021, at 10:00.

The first three winners of the 30-kilometer race will be awarded diplomas and various prizes by the embassy, as well as certificates to other participants who reach the finish line.
