GUAM to sign cooperation documents

The countries of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM are planning to sign protocols in customs cooperation, trade, and a new Consular Convention.

Secretary-General of the organization Altai Efendiyev said in an interview with Report. GUAM documents are also being prepared for signing with other international organizations - Memorandums of Cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and OSJD (Organization for Cooperation between Railways), as well as the Program of Cooperation with Israel.

"From international organizations, we continue to cooperate with the UN and its specialized structures, with the OSCE and other regional organizations. I can single out the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the OSJD specialized railway structure among the new partners. The Memorandums' texts have already been agreed with both of them; we are waiting for the appropriate occasion for their signing, "the organization's secretary-general said.

Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM is an international, regional organization, including the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. It was created on May 23, 2006, at the Kyiv summit of GUAM, during which the heads of state signed the Charter of the Organization.
