France must admit its guilt for oppression and disasters it committed in Algeria, Amchaoui El Malek, a representative of Algeria's National Liberation Front Party (FLN), told Report.
El Malek noted that France stole gold and diamonds from Algeria, but people didn't want this money back. Algerians demand France to officially recognize what they plundered from them.
"We don't need money. France stole gold and diamonds from Algeria, but we don't want them back. France once robbed and plundered Algeria. Additionally, France conducted 145 nuclear tests in Algeria, and thousands of our compatriots lost their lives as a result of these tests. The remnants and damages of these nuclear tests are still palpable. We demand that France come and clean up the traces of oppression and disasters it committed in Algeria. We Algerians demand France to acknowledge what they plundered from Algeria," he emphasized.
The official underlined that France is not worthy of being called the "cradle of human rights":
"France displays the skulls of Algerian martyrs in a museum. This is shameful act for a country that calls itself the cradle of human rights."
