Baku. 22 September. REPORT.AZ/ Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the sidelines of 71th Session of the UN General Assembly.

During the meeting, the sides had a broad exchange of views on the development of bilateral relations and perspectives of future cooperation between the two countries, fighting against terrorism and other issues of mutual concern.
Noting that the political relations between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan are at the high level, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov underlined the importance of further enhancement of cooperation in different areas, particularly in the fields of economy, trade and investment through joint efforts. Touching upon the large-scale transport and energy projects being implemented in the region with the initiative and participation of our country, E.Mammadyarov emphasized that those projects contribute to the regional cooperation and in future perspectives Afghanistan could also take advantage of them.
Expressing satisfaction with the level of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, Minister Salahuddin Rabbani stressed that Azerbaijan’s support to Afghanistan in a bilateral and multilateral format is highly appreciated by his country.
