MFA: Azerbaijan is interested in development of relations with Latin America

Report informs, the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev made this statement to the journalists.

He noted the increase in the number of Azerbaijani embassies in the region, the growing dynamics of development of relations with Latin America, particularly Colombia, Panama, Guatemala, Peru.

Hajiyev said that the countries of Latin America have begun to play a greater role in world politics. According to him, one of the main priorities of Azerbaijan's cooperation with them is to prevent provocations of Armenians and bring the truth about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the public in Latin America, in particular in the countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, where Armenian community live.

"The Armenian diaspora manipulates political circles for pushing their interests, including the recognition of the so-called"Armenian genocide", - said the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry.

He also stressed the interest of Azerbaijan in developing trade relations with Latin America. According to Hajiyev, turnover of commodities with the region estimates to 300 USD, mainly with Brazil. "We believe that taking into account the political factors, we have the potential to enhance trade turnover," said the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
