Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev is on visit in Georgia.
Local bureau of Report informs that he visited the Georgian foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation).
Ekaterine Metreveli, the President of the Rondeli Foundation welcomed the UNHCR's support and expressed their readiness to cooperate with the center. According to him, the Rondeli Foundation has been cooperating with Azerbaijani research centers for many years.
Shafiyev spoke about the history and goals of the UNMC. He said that one of the priorities of the center was to visit Georgia: “After the center received official funding the first visit was organized to Tbilisi. Azerbaijan and Georgia are tied with historical and close economic and political relations.
Center of Analysis of International Relations and Rondeli Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation at the meeting. The document was signed by the President of the Rondeli Foundation Metreveli and the Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations Farid Shafiyev.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Dursun Hasanov also attended the event.
The Rondeli Foundation was established in 1998. The organization conducts research and analysis on domestic and international issues throughout the Caucasus along with Georgia. The Foundation's activities are aimed at promoting democracy and expanding regional cooperation.
