Expert: Major breakthrough in Azerbaijan-Russia relations expected in 2022

The leadership experience of President Ilham Aliyev makes it possible to work for the future and get a positive result, Russian political scientist, director of the Institute of Contemporary State Development Dmitry Solonnikov said during an online roundtable dedicated to the results of the year in Russian-Azerbaijani relations and the role of President Ilham Aliyev in the development of modern Azerbaijan, Report informs.

He reminded that in 2020 Azerbaijan “achieved excellent results by winning the war and restoring its territorial integrity.” At the same time, one should not expect that all issues related to the post-conflict situation will be resolved immediately: the creation of unified logistic ties, the opening of the Zangazur corridor and the implementation of other points of the agreement will take time, he said.

In his opinion, a serious breakthrough in Azerbaijani-Russian relations is expected in 2022.
