Executive Secretary: Azerbaijan has important place in CIS economic space

Azerbaijan plays an active and constructive role in the CIS. The country's leadership is optimistic about most of the documents sent for discussion and then for implementation. Today, Azerbaijan is an important part of the economic development of the CIS, Sergey Lebedev, chairman and executive secretary of the CIS Executive Committee, told Report's Russian Bureau.

The diplomat noted that Baku hosts many important cultural and humanitarian events as part of the CIS activities: "Azerbaijan also closely participated in the establishment of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation, and the chairman of the fund was the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu."

"I wish the people of Azerbaijan peace, happiness, and prosperity. I do not doubt that Azerbaijan will continue to participate in our cooperation within the CIS closely," Lebedev stressed.
