Both Azerbaijan and Ukraine have faced external aggression, the occupation of part of their territories. Azerbaijan’s example of restoring territorial integrity during the military operation made a strong impression on the citizens of Ukraine. Azerbaijan’s leadership showed the whole world that the presence of a strong political will, combined with a well-thought-out strategy and mobilization of resources, can eliminate the frozen metastases of Soviet colonialism, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Maksim Kuryachyy said in an interview with Report.
He stressed that in this regard, military-technical ties with Azerbaijan, on the one hand, and with Turkey, on the other hand, are of particular importance for Ukraine.
"The experience of Azerbaijan and its military success confirm this. We have something to offer our Azerbaijani partners, especially since the first agreements on joint activities in the military-technical sphere were first signed back in 1997," he said.
Speaking about trilateral cooperation in the Baku-Ankara-Kyiv format, Kuryachyy noted that regional cooperation in the era of globalization doesn’t at all look like something archaic and secondary, as some think.
"On the contrary, the challenges that the international community has faced in recent years, particularly the coronavirus pandemic, actualize the development of regional, local interconnections, their involvement in the search for effective ways and means of responding to such challenges. After all, world progress is being formed and filled from a variety of sources. You need to look for and find your place in this dynamically changing world," he concluded.
