The Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of Azerbaijanis (EAPCA) has signed a statement denouncing a document adopted by Belgium's new coalition government, Report informs.
The document signed by Secretary General Sahil Gasimov states that in the document adopted by the coalition government of Belgium, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan were distorted by using the phrase "Nagorno-Karabakh."
"The transnational lobbying organization EAPCA, operating in the Euro-Atlantic geographical area, calls on Belgium's coalition government formed on February 1, 2025, to respect the Republic of Azerbaijan and the rights of the Azerbaijani people," the statement said.
EAPCA believes that while the document adopted by the coalition government emphasizes the issue of Armenians' return to Azerbaijan, it makes no mention of the fate of Azerbaijanis who were forcibly expelled from Armenia:
"The Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of Azerbaijanis demands that Belgium's newly formed coalition government respect and recognize the rights of Western Azerbaijanis. The statement adopted by EAPCA has been sent to Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever, the Belgian Federal Parliament, and the Belgian Senate."
