EU Commissioner: Azerbaijan and EU become closer to each other

Baku. 31 May. REPORT.AZ / "Azerbaijan and  the EU have established strategic partnership, they are getting closer to each other."

EU Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources, Günther Oettinger told Report.

He recalled that in 2011 a document was signed, which initiated the beginning of the Southern Gas Corridor, and according to him, Europe will soon receive gas from Azerbaijan through Georgia and Turkey, then from there to Greece, Bulgaria, the Western Balkans and Italy.

Speaking about Caspian Oil and Gas conference held in Baku, G. Oettinger noted that the event has reached a global scale. According to him, this is an important conference for politicians and regional players, as well as a place where people from all over the world can meet and discuss mutually beneficial issues.
