Erdogan reaffirmed the support for Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Erdogan has invited the President of Azerbaijan on the activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Canakkale battle. 

Baku. 15 January. REPORT.AZ/ "At the meeting of the Council we discussed a high strategic cooperation, the way, which we passed up to this day, as well as future steps that we intend to perform." 

Report informs, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at press conference devoted to the results of the IV High Strategic Cooperation Council of Turkey-Azerbaijan.

Turkish President said he was glad to see President Ilham Aliyev in Turkey and added that he made the first foreign visit to Azerbaijan after he being elected a president.

Speaking about economic cooperation, Erdogan said that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey over the last year amounted to 5 billion USD: "Our goal is to increase this figure to 15 billion USD in year 2030. We are confident that there is a desire on both sides, and that this goal will be achieved."

Turkish President also added that the the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was discussed at the meeting of the Council. He noted that, unfortunately, the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group does not give significant results, and the conflict has not been resolved yet.

Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey's support for Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 

During his speech, the Turkish leader also mentioned TANAP project and noted that all steps are taking for its implementation. Erdogan also said that in 2015, there is a plan to open Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which would mean opening the way from Beijing to Istanbul.

At the end, the Turkish President said that, on April 24 Turkey to host events dedicated to Canakkale battle of 1915 and invited President Ilham Aliyev to take part in these events.
