Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the 30-year occupation of Karabakh was ended in a short period of 44 days, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the 8th Summit of the Turkic Council in Istanbul, Report informs.

"This is of particular importance not only for our Azerbaijani brothers but for the entire Turkic world. As a result of the war, the decisions of the UN Security Council, which have not been carried out for years, have been implemented. In this way, Azerbaijan has engraved a message of justice in the memory of the international community. Re-ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has developed the unity and equality of the Turkic world," Erdogan noted.

He stressed that "Kharibulbul", a symbol of Karabakh's freedom, was a harbinger of victory for the Turkic world:

"The Karabakh Victory not only liberated the occupied lands but also paved the way for lasting peace, stability, and cooperation in the region. On this occasion, I am proud to present the Supreme Order of the Turkic World to my dear brother Ilham Aliyev, and I remember the martyrs with deep respect."
