The French Embassy in Azerbaijan has hosted celebrations for the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism, Report informs.

Speaking at the event, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross called international terrorism a global problem for all humanity.

“March 11 is already a day of remembrance for victims of terrorism in France,” Gross said. “In some period of time in history, France has been repeatedly subjected to terrorist attacks by various groups, in particular during the war in Algeria, and also in 2012. This is all a great tragedy. It is necessary to promote and appreciate our civic dialogue. I thank all the people who work in law enforcement agencies, as well as everyone else who saves people’s lives.”

The ambassador also thanked Azerbaijan for fruitful cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

“We better understand the challenges that Azerbaijan faces, and they are almost similar to ours,” he said. “I also thank Azerbaijan for the efforts made in the fight against religious intolerance.”
