Envoy: EU - Azerbaijan’s main trading partner

The European Union is Azerbaijan’s main trading partner, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said at a meeting with Lankaran Chief Executive Taleh Garashov, Report informs.

He noted that the European Union is also the main export market for Azerbaijan, and the EU countries make direct investments there.

The European Union is ready to share its experience with Azerbaijan for the development of Lankaran. The EU is implementing a number of different projects in this region. Thus, students and teachers from Lankaran State University closely cooperate with European universities. Last year saw a record numbers in the field of education between Azerbaijan and EU, both in terms of the number of Azerbaijanis studying in the EU countries, and in other areas, Michalko said.
