Emergency Ministry official: Azerbaijani firefighters fulfilled tasks set in Turkey

The Emergency Ministry employees were involved in extinguishing massive forest fires in various parts of Turkey on July 30, on the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, deputy chief of the State Firefighting Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, colonel Rza Khudiyev said.

Report quotes him as saying the Azerbaijani personnel and equipment were dispatched to brotherly Turkey in four stages.

"On July 31, we already started extinguishing the fires mainly near the city of Marmaris, in Mugla, around the cities Aydin and Denizli," he said.

"In line with President Ilham Aliyev's instruction, our task together with our Turkish colleagues was to put out the massive fires in the shortest period. We fulfilled it. We managed to protect big cities, villages, and settlements from fires within a short period," Khudiyev said.
