Elmar Mammadyarov receives Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council

Baku. 19 October. REPORT.AZ/ Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation headed by Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Latif Bin Rashid Al Zayani.

Report was informed in the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The sides expressed the satisfaction with the development of the cooperation among Azerbaijan, GGC and member states. It was noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Azerbaijan and GCC provided an important framework for the development of bilateral relations on an institutional basis.

As a positive development the increase in the number of tourists coming from the GCC countries to Azerbaijan and opening of direct flights was specifically mentioned. Also, the sides emphasized the importance of increasing further joint efforts in this direction.

The sides expressed assurance that Azerbaijan- GCC Member States Business Forum to be held in Baku on 19-20 October 2017 will create favorable conditions for further development of this cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investments and tourism.

At the meeting the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
