Baku. 28 November. REPORT.AZ/ "I came to Azerbaijan almost nine years ago with a clear political instruction - wholeheartedly to strengthen relations with Azerbaijan. To accomplish this task was not difficult. There were open doors before me. As Russia, Azerbaijan also aspired to strengthen our relations”, Report informs, statement made by the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin completing his diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan.
Yesterday, Russian president Vladimir Putin signed decree on releiving Dorokhin from his post of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan.
“Over the past years, I have witnessed and participated in many important events the outcome of which was expanding the Russian Azerbaijani partnership based on principles of absolute respect for sovereignty of each other, non-interference and balance of interest. Millions of people felt the good character of Russian -Azerbaijani interaction. I want to thank Azerbaijanis for their constant interest in the activity of embassy and my personal work. Policy of strengthening the relations with Russia has a broad base in Azerbaijan,” statement says.
“We have varied political interests in many areas. Nevertheless, we have learned to get along. I assure you that Russia will always strive for that because we don’t have greater interest than to have in our southern borders stable, predictable and prosperous Azerbaijan,” said Dorokhin.
